Forest Colors

"To me, this is classic New England autumn. The stone walls are rare in much of the US, but they're pervasive in the Northeast and the colors please the eye. I also enjoy the evergreen as a counterpoint to the orange."

Birch Foliage

"There's something surreal about this much orange in a forest. It's as if it was created by Hollywood for a movie. But I will attest that I was alone at the time and nary a movie camera was to be seen."

Autumn Hills

"Generally, I tend to avoid including overcast skies in my photos because they lack the interest of a blue sky with puffy, white clouds. But this scene was such a classic and pastoral autumn vista that I couldn't ignore it. I especially like the intersecting stone walls against the green grass and colorful leaves."
