"This is a very popular image.
It was taken in the early morning; but I'm often asked if the reflection was of the moon.
It certainly does have some aspects of a lunar photo, though, the sky would be black.
I love the sea and it provides me with a feeling of tranquility.
The shore is a favorite compositional target of my photography and I find it ever changing."

"Here's another shot that was difficult.
I was going for a shot of the sea gull with wings open in an attractive 'pose' with his (her?) reflection in the water.
I must have taken over nine photos of less appealing wing-spreads and 'stragglers' interfering at the edge of the frame.
But this guy finally came to save the day (and really knew how to fly!)"

"This photo was a little scary to get.
I was climbing down on steep, wet, slippery rocks with gear and tripod to get to the base of the falls.
I didn't want to fall and I didn't want to drop my camera and lenses onto those rocks or into the drink.
Then it was hard to keep the spray off the equipment.
I kept lamenting the need for more insurance on my equipment and asking myself what the heck I was doing here in the first place.
But alas, the image calls..."
